ZTE Chinese Manufacturers yesterday announced to launch a new smartphone. The new smartphone will use Microsoft Operating system, Mango in fiscal year Q3 2011. Xie Daxiong, ZTE Vice President said the company expects revenue growth this year to be around same level as in 2010, while speaking at a meeting for analyst in Shenzhen China.
In order to boost the revenue from mobile devices such as smartphone and also to become a major global handset vendor, the move is part of company long term strategy. ZTE asserted that in five years, it wanted mobile phone revenue to generate half of its mobile phone revenue.
Last year tablets, handsets, and wireless modems accounted for 26% of ZTE revenue. Meanwhile, on Tuesday (24th May), Microsoft launched its newest version of operating system, Mango.
